Duxford Imperial War Museum go Green

Cambs Compressor Engineering, one of Avelair’s premier compressed air distributors, has recently installed a new Avelair Variable Speed 45 kW compressor into the Duxford Imperial War Museum. The high quality Avelair VSD 45 has replaced an uneconomic Atlas Copco fixed speed compressor that caught fire.

The museum use the compressed air for shotblasting large truck components and cannons as well as spraypainting and breathing air. The specification required was for not only a reliable compressor but also for an effective energy saving solution for their compressed air plant. Cambs Compressors came up with the ideal solution of the 45 kW variable speed drive compressor which reduces the energy lost through offload running.
